Showreel

Lene Poulsen has been a well-known screen character actress in Denmark since the early 1980s. Playing in prime-time TV series and sitcoms as well as in feature films, she has worked alongside many of Denmark’s leading actors and both under and in collaboration with leading Danish directors. Throughout her acting career, LP has also worked extensively in theatre.

In recent years, Lene has produced six plays, in which she herself plays leading roles – among these a Danish version of Shirley Valentine, which she performed 59 times around Denmark in 2008-9, and an adaptation of Terence McNally’s Frankie and Johnny, performed 33 times in 2010-11. Lene has scripted several plays, such as the farce play I Am Rich (2013), starring Lene in the only role. She has also appeared in numerous advertisements on national television.

Lene trained to be an actor by apprenticeships – mainly using the Stanislavski system – learning by doing rather than by attending drama school.

Drawing on her acting experience, LP has worked as a drama teacher, team builder, event host and an entertainer at company events, as well as organising and hosting the annual event Day of Poetry for five consecutive years.
